We have feared the time when the Call of Duty franchise would take a dent someday and I hope this is not it. Statistics from the most popular platform for PC games, Steam suggest that the Advanced Warfare is not being played as much as we expected.
In the recent days, Steam users have slowed down with the game so much that it doesn’t even make it in the top 10 most played games at the moment.
So the top 10 most played games on Steam as of now are:
- Dota 2
- Counter Strike Global Offensive
- Team Fortress 2
- Football Manger 2015
- PayDay 2
- Sid Meier’s Civilization V
- The Binding of Isaac Rebirth
- The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim
- Counter Strike
- Garry’s Mod
Out of these, the most played game has 697,758 players at the time of writing while the game on number 10 has 16.442 players. While it is just a random time that I have checked, it sure means that players on Steam aren’t too much into Call of Duty Advanced Warfare.
For a game that has released only a couple of days ago, I kind of expected that everyone would be head over heels beating the crap out of enemies in the online multiplayer. Not to forget how much more fun it is to play such a game in its initial days.
Another reason for this might be that the dedicated servers of the game aren’t really working as expected. If that is the case I am sure that Call of Duty Advanced Warfare will pick up the pace in the coming days.
I hope Sledgehammer keeps up with the expectations on this one!
