If you still have any doubts about the magnanimity of content that Halo The Master Chief Collection is going to bring you, know that the 45GB Blu-ray disc of the game was so small for its size that they had to announce a 20GB day one patch.
We had reported two days ago about the pay one patch going live for preloading one of these days. Although the news was an unofficial source, it happens to have been based on something.
That is because now we have picked up confirmation that the said update is actually available for predownloading. The news was shared by Dan Ayoub who is the executive producer at 343 Industries:
Good news gang! Day One TU for MCC is up! If you haven’t enabled auto download, go get it now!!
So this is official now.
I am sure many of the fans who were unhappy for having to download such a hefty patch on day one would be glad about getting it for preload. However it does mean that people who have purchased the digital version of the game would need to spend even more time downloading.
Just remember that the day one patch is going to be a must have for all of you since it is going to unlock the multiplayer. As 343 Industries explained earlier:
You’ll be able to start playing Campaign and more as the content is installing, with some features and multiplayer content being added via the update. Yes, the update is large, but we weren’t about to cut corners to save disc space.
That being said, for everyone who still hasn’t started counting days, the Halo The Master Chief Collection unleashes worldwide on November 11 except in Belgium, Japan and France where it will be released on November 12, 13 and 14 respectively.
