In a week from now, you will be able to buy the latest iteration in Pro Evolution Soccer series by Konami, PES 2015. Just to remind you of that, the developer PES Productions took to the official PlayStation US Blog with a new behind the scenes video as well as a discussion on how players are created in the game.
The video, as you can see above, shows you the making of the official launch trailer with Mario Gotze (the real Mario Gotze, not the game iteration). It shows basically how Gotze helped in the shoot of the trailer.
That being said, the post was made by Juan Pombo of Konami Digital Entertainment where they discussed PES ID, where all the tiniest details of every character are kept starting from facial design to body and from the hairstyle to the build and form the shooting style to the ‘nuances in their running.’
Usually 3D artists take high resolution pictures given to them by the clubs and sculpt them to perfection; in the case of PES 2015 they have used 3D scanning. Place the player between eight high res cameras, spend at least three hours prepping the situation and shoot hundreds of pictures.
The post explained further:
In PES 2015, using a mix of both 3D modelling and 3D sculpting, the team has managed to generate over 1,000 real player faces, but the work doesn’t stop there! We’ll keep implementing more and more faces throughout the year in our efforts to make every player look like their real life counterpart.
The developers are putting in a lot of effort into getting you the players that look just like your favorite real life footballers, I am sure they deserve all the praise for this.
PES 2015 is slated for a worldwide release on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on November 13, 2014.
