After the disappointing release of Resident Evil 6, Capcom is looking to go back to the roots of survival horror with its upcoming title Resident Evil Revelations 2.
It is not clear if the same formula will be used for the eventual release of Resident Evil 7 but it seems as though Revelations 2 is aiming to bring back the element that made Resident Evil franchise what it is today.
Some new screens have been released for the game, showing our female protagonist Claire Redfield in action, taking down a bunch of ugly looking zombies somewhere in an abandoned detention facility.
During her fight for survival, she is not alone as Moira Burton can be seen by her side, judging by the screens, it looks like we won’t have much use for Moira during combat but she can help out while solving various puzzles.
The images which can be seen at the end of this article, gave us a look at a number of creepy and spooky environments in the game.
Also, in one image Claire can be seen taking down a couple of zombies with a shotgun while in another one she stealthy approaches a mutated being with a knife in her hand.
Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be released as an episodic series and four episodes will be released on the weekly basis.
The game will be released for PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows PC in early 2015.
