Game development is a tough task and sometimes it takes a really long to time get the right results and create that perfect game or character a developer wants to see.
During a Q&A session held on Twitter, Teagan Morrison from Naughty Dog stated that artists are still trying to perfect the face of Nathan Drake in Uncharted 4 and that it is taking a lot of time in order to get the result they are aiming for.
“The artists involved in crafting the face of Nathan Drake in Uncharted 4: a Thief’s End are still perfecting it. It’s taking years to get the right result.”
We first saw Uncharted 4’s Nathan Drake at this year’s E3. He woke up at the side of a river with a gash on his forehead.
The character model and details looked impressive and the footage was captured from a PS4 which means that it wasn’t a CGI trailer and we can expect this character to look as detailed in the game as well.
Furthermore, the Q&A was aimed towards students looking for a job in the gaming industry and answering their questions, Morrison further stated that “an awesome portfolio” is more important compared to experience.
