The 8 teams playing were some of the best in the world, as it featured only the top teams qualified from America, Europe and South East Asia.
Star Ladder Season X began with a group stage consisting of 2 groups. Top 2 teams of each group advanced to the upper bracket while the bottom 2 go to the lower bracket instead.
Group A ended with Evil Geniuses and Teamerino Tinkerino in the top spots both with 2 wins and 1 loss, while Alliance and Cloud9 finished in the bottom, both with 1 win and 2 losses.
