It has been revealed that Ubisoft’s open world title, The Crew is going to feature micro-transactions that will allow you to purchase performance enhancing parts with real money.
Ubisoft’s rep made this revelation in a statement given to Videogamer:
We can confirm that performance parts can be unlocked through progression as well as microtransactions. All content can be unlocked through progression, but for busy gamers who want to save some time, they will have the opportunity to buy some items in-game.
Micro-transactions are not appreciated by a lot of players as they sometimes give unfair advantages to the people who can afford the performance parts and then they are able to outdo everyone in the game, making it unfair for those who want to earn their way to the top.
The open world game like The Crew can include a lot of performance enhancing parts that players would love to buy, but if this becomes a pay to win situation, then Ubisoft will have another controversy at its hand to deal with.
The Crew after suffering a short delay will now launch on 2nd of December for PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
What do you think of Ubisoft’s decision to allow real money purchases to increase performance in The Crew?
