New screenshots of Rugby 15 have surfaced today on the web, confirming that the game is still on track for a release this year. The game was announced back in April but since then we have heard little about it. This led to many believing that the game had been scrapped.
Bigben Interactive confirmed today that the development is still ongoing and Rugby 15 is sticking to a release later this year for the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS Vita and PC.
The company, however, failed to mention a specific release date.
The publisher also revealed that Rugby 15 now includes all twelve teams from the Guinness PRO12, in addition to the previously announced Aviva Premiership Ruby and Top 14 licenses.
The game will now launch with four leagues from the main European championships and “offer gamers, and rugby fans all the drama and emotion of Europe’s greatest competitions.”
The released screenshots of the game, however, have me a bit disappointed. Back in June we got a couple of similar shots that were entitled as being Work in Progress. These shots, however, have no such tags, and so we’re pretty much looking at what we’ll be paying for.
It’s hard to say how much things will improve in bringing this game over to the current-gen consoles.
