Alien Isolation Does Support Oculus Rift, Unofficially for Now

Alien Isolation released worldwide yesterday, ever since then it has wreaked fear, tension and whatnot among all the fans of the series. However, if you thought that holding your breath on this side of the screen isn’t enough, how about trying out the game on Oculus Rift?

Yes, some hackers have already broken into the game and made it playable with the Oculus Rift.

Recently, a thread was started over Reddit where hackers joined in to overcome the feat and in a surprisingly short period of time they have reported that the game is actually running!

In fact, they are now sharing lists of instructions prepared for the people who want to try it and have gone as far as including positional tracking that was there in the development kit 2.

Naturally, the virtual reality support is unofficial so it is supposed to have bugs that might or might not get eradicated. As far as the game’s developer, Creative Assembly and the publisher SEGA is concerned, they have not come up with a statement on the matter so far.

Talking of, at this year’s E3 and other events after that, a prototype was shown of the Oculus Rift which supported Alien Isolation. However, for some reason Creative Assembly announced later that the game will not have a support for the device at least when the game gets released.

Apparently, just the possibility of a VR support in the future wasn’t promising enough for the enthusiasts who took it upon themselves.

You can go ahead and check how they are doing and tell us what you think of playing Alien Isolation in Oculus Rift, the virtual reality headset.

The game is currently available for purchase on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
