Uber Entertainment has heard your requests and are planning to include a DRM free single player offline mode in the game. Starting this week players will be able take “their battle completely offline.”
“We’re happy to announce the release of the offline server. Coming in an update this Thursday (October 9), offline server allows you to take over the galaxy in Galactic War without connecting to the Internet. You can also battle against your frenemies or the AI over a LAN.”
Planetary Annihilation’s current single player mode asks players to connect to the internet in order to play offline matches against bots.
According to Uber Entertainment, DRM free online experience was always an important part of the game and they are also planning to add a feature that will let you run your very own online servers soon.
The developer has also stated that support for the game will continue and the launch of Planetary Annihilation is just “another phase of development.”
They have also started a Kickstarter campaign for a new title called Human Resources. The new game is being build on the same engine used in the development of Planetary Annihilation. You can know more about it by following the link here.
