In the wake of numerous reports by users who are unable to validate their keys to enter the closed beta of The Crew, developer Ubisoft has stated that its support team is quickly working on a fix.
The closed beta of The Crew kicked off yesterday for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One; the former platform, however, quickly suffered issues with players not being able to enter their beta keys. Upon doing so, an error message would pop up saying that the key is invalid.
Ubisoft has not provided a reason for the bug, but has said that the issue is with the “relevant teams” who are “actively working with Sony America” on a solution.
Earlier today, the developer noted that progress made in the beta will not be carried over to the final game.
According to Creative Director Julian Gerighty, all betas are technical and are not marketing betas so the purpose is to make a better game, nothing else. Additionally, he said that beta testers shouldn’t expect everything in the game to be unlocked.
The Crew releases on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC on November 11. It will not be released for the PS3 and Wii U.
