Söldner-X2: Final Prototype Vita Port “Console Perfect”
Asian publisher eastasiasoft is partnering with developer SideQuest Studios once again to bring side-scrolling shooter Söldner-X2: Final Prototype to Playstation Vita this winter. It was previously already available for Playstation 3, having launched in 2010.
Expected changes from the switch to the Sony handheld include 60 frames per second and next to no load times, which the publisher calls a “console perfect port.” Additionally, new trophies and high score tables will be added to the shooter.
Given the game is already available on PS3, eastasiasoft has announced that it will feature a cross-buy option for the PS Vita version. This means that those who already own it will be able to get the handheld edition for no additional cost.
Söldner-X2: Final Prototype puts a flashy shoot ‘em up title in 10 stages in total, which includes boss battles. It’s also possible to unlock a challenge mode to get more replay value out of the game.
Your rank and difficulty are linked to chaining together attacks successfully. This can become quite hectic, as attack patterns for the player’s ship are wavier than most shooters and activity on the screen is usually high.
Söldner-X2: Final Prototype is one of the series that eastasiasoft and SideQuest Studios do together. Some may also remember the classically-styled, isometric roleplaying game (RPG) Rainbow Moon that came out on PS3 and Vita not too long ago.
Hopefully, the company will have something to say about the RPG’s sequel, Rainbow Skies, soon. We may need to wait on that until development and release of Söldner-X2: Final Prototype has passed.
