“The Future” Will Decide a PC Port of Sunset Overdrive

Insomniac Games has stated that it currently has no plans to release a PC version of Sunset Overdrive.

Speaking with VideoGamer earlier this month, Community and Marketing lead James Stevenson explained that while there’s no PC port on their list of things to do right now, the developer will “see what happens in the future” before deciding on a Windows port.

“I don’t know what the future holds,” Stevenson said. “Right now there’s no plans for a PC version of the game. We’re just working hard to finish up [the Xbox One version]. We’re going to support it post-launch and then we’ll see what happens in the future. But there’s no plans. We aren’t planning a PC version or anything like that.”

Dead Rising 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome were two titles that were announced for the Xbox One and helped in creating quite a hype train for the console. However, the console didn’t even see its first anniversary before the respective developers announced a PC port for the said games.

For the time being, Sunset Overdrive will remain as an Xbox One exclusive. However, with Insomniac Games’ previous history with the PlayStation and seeing how Xbox One titles are ending up on PC, will it really be surprising to see the game lose its Microsoft exclusivity?

Sunset Overdrive is scheduled to release on October 28.
