Alien: Isolation Trailer Shows Dangers of Hiding in the Air Ducts

Creative Assembly has released a new trailer for Alien: Isolation which informs us of the impending dangers when we decide to spend too much time trying to hide in the space station Sevastopol’s air ducts.

The scene in the video would be very familiar to those who have watched the films.

Amanda Ripley, the game’s main character is trying to hide from the alien menace in the ship’s air ducts. After catching glance of the deadly being through a metal grate, she produces a handheld motion detector and retraces her way back. However, she’s not that lucky.

The game’s lighting is commendable and the survival mechanics may just be enough to make this a good game. After the fiasco with the last Alien title, Creative Assembly would have its hands full with this one. The studio needs to make this work or else risk killing the entire franchise.

I’m really hoping the game delivers. It’s high time that we had ‘the’ Alien title in our games collection.

Alien: Isolation went gold last week and is on schedule for release on October 7 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. We’ll know soon enough if the franchise has redeemed itself or not.
