PlayStation 4 System Update 1.76 is Live, Improves Stability

By   /   Sep 2, 2014

Well, this one came in quick and the effect it had on us reporters is already wearing off. The PlayStation 4 System Update 1.76 has gone live however, do not expect a long list of patch notes here because it doesn’t have any.

If we got a penny for every update that came with stability improvement note – which of course doesn’t tell much – we would have been a multifold richer than now. Yet, that is all the explanation that Sony has given us about it so far.

According to a user who uploaded a screenshot of his PlayStation 4 while he received the automatic update, the main features in PlayStation 4 System Update 1.76 constitute of one sentence:

“System software stability during use of some features has been improved.”

Well, yes I am happy that the console is even more stable now but I am sure most of the users were expecting some heavy hitting features. That being said, the size of the update is roughly 200MB which isn’t small for something with such small patch notes. I am guessing the stability improvements are going to be worthy of it.

That being said, fans who have been looking at things like MP3 support, getting to send picture messages through the PS4 camera or uploading to YouTube etc. will have to wait a little longer.

We shall update you if any other details are released by Sony but in the meanwhile, tell us what else were you expecting to see in the PlayStation 4 System Update 1.76?
