The wait is finally over for the PS4 owners as during today’s SCEJA press conference Sony showcased themes running on the new gen console.

Check the new themes feature out in the attached video above, which showcases Dokodemo Issho theme that stars Toro, Kuro and some of their friends.

Themes will become part of the console with the 2.0 firmware update and in addition to the showcased theme, a lot of other themes will be added to the console as well, with more to come as the time goes on.

PlayStation 4 users were itching for themes to become part of the console for a very long time now and Sony has finally decided to listen to the fans and brighten up the user interface of their new gen console.

The next update is becoming really exciting now, as it is going to bring Share play which Sony describes as “Virtual Couch” that will allow you to play cooperatively with someone else online and that person doesn’t even need to own the game.

So far, there is no official release date for PS4 2.0 firmware update but Sony is looking to release it sometime this fall.

What do you think of themes making their way to PlayStation 4? Are you excited?
