Disgaea 5 Confirmed for Playstation 4, Coming Spring 2015

By   /   Sep 1, 2014

Nippon Ichi Software has at last announced Disgaea 5 for Playstation 4.

The announcement came directly from Sony’s Pre-Tokyo Game Show Press Conference today where the developer also announced that the game will hit the store shelves in Japan, sometime in spring 2015 – there was no mention of a Western release window.

The latest instalment in the strategy-RPG series was confirmed to be in development as back as early 2012 and had been in the shadows until now.

While it was widely assumed that the game may launch across Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita, seeing Nippon Ichi going with PS4 is a pleasant surprise.

We’ve also received the first look at the game’s characters which can be seen below:

Other than this, there are no more details available, but we’re hoping that the game will make it to Tokyo Game Show later this month in Chiba, Japan.

The most recent game in the franchise was released back in 2011 on PS3 in the form of Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten which later got ported to PS Vita as Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited.

Make sure to check back as we near Tokyo Game Show for more information on the game!
