Destiny Will Require 40 GB of Hard Drive Space

The highly anticipated upcoming open-world action shooter Destiny from Bungie will require a massive 40 GB of hard drive space for installation.

The space requirement was confirmed through a series of leaked online photos of the final box case for the game. The user apparantly obtained a copy early, which nowadays is no surprise. Retailers usually get them in advance and hence hand them out to close friends and the like.

In the images, the print on the box reads that the game will require “up to 40 GB storage for installation”. This does not include upcoming DLC packs and patches. It can be safely assumed that with Bungie going all out, the upcoming DLC packs will also be of sizable proportions.

Those hoping to invest time in Destiny should start clearing out space now.

GameStop recently announced a pre-order incentive for those wanting to get both Destiny and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Pre-ordering Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare from Gamestop will get you Level 20 legendary Blacksmith Armor Shader for the upcoming shooter from Bungie. This however is a limited time offer only.

Destiny is scheduled for release later this week on the 9th for the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
