DDR4 RAMs were announced quite a while ago and various companies have been releasing their own versions slowly, the latest one to join them being Corsair with its Dominator Platinum kit, comprising of 4 memory chips.
In a world where every game runs perfect on DDR3 RAM with a speed of 1600Mhz, these DDR4 ones pack quite a punch with their minimum speed of 2666Mhz. To make its mark even further on the fledgling DDR4 market, Corsair is partnering up with ASUS to deliver the highest specification DDR4 memory to date.
Along with the expected DDR4-3000 and DDR4-3200, Corsair has announced the DDR4-3300 Dominator Platinum Kit which would work with all motherboards but is especially designed for ASUS X99 Deluxe and Rampage V Extreme motherboards.
The 3300Mhz. beast will initially be available as a 4x4GB kit, delivering 16GB of memory with a speed of 3300Mhz. but the pricing and sub timings are still unclear. Although given the prices of other DDR4 memories, it will most definitely be above the 1000$ mark.
Other companies, even Corsair already have 3000Mhz. and 3200Mhz. modules in the market but the 3300Mhz. would be the first of its kind.
The cheapest Corsair DDR4 memory kit with a 16GB capacity and a speed of 2666Mhz. is priced at 480$ so do you think shelling out 900-1000$ just for a memory module is justified when your current DDR3 is easily maxing out every game? Share your thoughts below.
