Uber Entertainment, known for its work on Total Annihilation and Command & Conquer has finally announced a release date for Planetary Annihilation with a Launch trailer and the game will be out on September 5 for the price of $30.
Its been almost 2 years since the game was funded via Kickstarter.
Planetary Annihilation is real-time strategy game which allows players to strap on engines to moons and asteroids and launch them towards planets for complete annihilation.
As I mentioned above, the game was funded via Kickstarter and the devs hoped to raise $900,000 for development purposes but the fans loved the idea for their next game and they funded the title with over $2.2 million.
The number further exceeds when you add all the money that came in by selling early access for the in-development version of the game. The game and devs were criticized by many PC gamers for charging $90 for early access.
The game was expected sometime in winter 2013 but in an unfortunate turn of events was delayed with the comment that it will be released “When it’s done”.
Planetary Annihilation has seen its ups and downs during development period but now has finally decided to come out of steam early access and launch this September on PC, Mac and Linux platforms.
