Upon the launch of The Crew beta on PC, many players were angry because the frame rates of the game were locked at 30fps.
When some people tried to find a way around it, then on the game’s official forums the community manager Ubi-Valentin stated:
The final game will run in 1080p with 30 frames per second on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, and will support up to 5760*1080p on PC for triple screen set-ups. Right now the team is focusing on providing an optimal experience for all players. You can unlock it in the file you’ve found, but it may affect the game’s performances. Your call.
However, after receiving the feedback of the angry fans, the same community manager updated his comment by saying:
We can officially say that we’re aiming for 60FPS on PC at launch. Our Beta build is still more performant at 30FPS, but you can expect to play at 60FPS on PC when the game is launched.
This is a good move by Ubisoft as most of the racing fans expect the titles to be at 60 fps and when they saw that the game was locked at 30 FPS by default, they were really ticked off.
We will see how the game progresses as it reaches the final phase of its development in the coming months. The Crew is set to release on 11th of November for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 4.
Are you glad that fps in the PC version of open world racing title might not be locked in the final version?
