Doorways: The Underworld is the next title from developer Saibot Studios to make it to Steam. It will be out on September 17, 2014 for $9.99 or €8.99.
Currently, preorders for the game make it 25% cheaper to pick up. There are no additional incentives, but it makes the game quite affordable already.
Moreover, you can play Doorways: The Underworld as a standalone version, even though it is the third chapter in the series. Previously, the developer released both chapter 1 and 2 of the game in September of 2013.
The current release date for Doorways: The Underworld is later than planned. In an accompanying post, the team explains the delay as follows:
Due to technical and distribution reasons, we’re forced to make a change in the release date of the new chapter.
We really didn’t expected this, but everything is for the best. We want you to have the most polished version we can make.
Doorways: The Underworld is a first person horror title with some grizzly footage. It features a few deformed people with metallic contraptions embedded into them.
Naturally, gameplay takes place in some dark and decrepit environments. For some illogical reason, you want to track down a missing psychopath in the game.
For horror fans, Doorways: The Underworld will feature voice work from Sam A. Mowry, which is known as the embodiment of Alexander in the classic hit, Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
If you’re really hardcore, Doorways: The Underworld also includes native Oculus Rift support. Controllers work as well, if that’s more your thing.
