Ubisoft has released a new video for Assassin’s Creed: Unity which explains how the latest installment overhauls and improves essential elements of the franchise.
The video is being narrated by Senior Producer Vincent Pontbriand who has worked on three previous Assassin’s Creed games. He however mentions in the video that working with Unity “feels like the first one all over the again, in the sense that we’ve renewed all our pillars, rebuilt all our technology”.
A couple of days ago Ubisoft explained why it decided on dropping competitive multiplayer from the Unity installment in favor of the new four-player co-op support.
According to the developer, multiplayer has always been a staple feature for the series. However, with the latest installment it all came down to the “evolution” of the series.
We wanted to bring a new type of multiplayer experience, which was asked for by fans and which we wanted to explore for a long time: cooperative gameplay. Our aim was to have a seamless single-to-multi experience: This is why we are not opposing single player and co-op; we have ancestral missions dealing with Arno’s story and Brotherhood missions dealing with Arno’s duties towards the Brotherhood.
Assassin’s Creed: Unity is scheduled for release on October 28 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
