CD Projekt RED is currently considering adding customization options in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to allow players to trim Geralt’s beard or snip off his ponytail.
“It will be… we’re still considering it,” said art producer Stan Just to VG247 at Gamescom 2014 last week. “For example, we heard a lot of things about the hairstyle. A lot of people asked us about the beard and whether it will be trimmable or not. It’s still to be decided, but we do hear the voices of the fans.”
The developer also revealed that the game will feature ‘tiers’ of Witcher-specific armors related to the four Witcher schools of Wolf, Cat, Griffin and Viper.
“What you should be looking forward to is to assemble special Witcher sets of armour,” said Just. “They’re related to the Witcher schools, so the Wolf is not the only one. They come in four different levels, and you can only achieve the highest levels by crafting the previous ones.”
The art producer teased that the final stages of the armors are “really, really impressive in terms of artistic style”. I guess that will be enough motivation for everyone to try gather all the parts of the set.
Lastly he also said that compared to the second installment, The Witcher 3 will have a lot more armor and swords to find in the world.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set for release in February, 2014 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
