Localization company Aksys Games is continuing its effort to bring its favored niche games over. Both Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters and Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late are now up for preorders.
Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters will be available for both Playstation 3 and PS Vita, currently expected to arrive somewhere in 2015. A preorder costs $39.99 through Amazon, no matter what platform you choose.
In this game, you play through an enhanced visual novel. After a ghostly attack at a school, you join up with a magazine called Gate Keepers, Inc., which specializes in the occult.
Unlike most visual novels, Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters will give players more control. Throughout conversations, you’ll be able to combine a Five Senses System that works with different emotions, to influence characters.
This system can alter the shape of the story, as well as the dynamic with characters. It’s a bit like BioWare’s grade of roleplaying game (RPG) conversation options.
Additionally, Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters has RPG combat sections as well, where you set up traps to catch spirits, Ghostbusters style. This comes with character progress, side quests, crafting; the works.
Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late is Aksys Games’ other breed of titles: Gorgeous 2D fighters with flashy anime visuals. It’s currently exclusive to PS3 and a preorder is set at $39.99, with the release also expected for 2015.
The fighting game will work with temporary offensive increases to urge players to top one another. Moreover, moves will be “streamlined,” so that newcomers can jump into the game easier and time isn’t lost looking at the move list.
There are sixteen fighters in total in Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late. As this is in collaboration with Arc System Works, the game will use an adapted netcode from their BlazBlue series.
