According to the recent reports, PlayStation 4 has sold over 10 million units around the world in less than a year of its release, however, in last few weeks in Japan it seems that Wii U have had a leg up on the Sony’s console by quite some margin.
That is according to the weekly hardware sales report as given by m-create. The report states that Wii U in just last week has sold 13,598 units, while Sony’s PS4 just managed to sell 5,470 units.
Lack of PS4 sales in Japan is largely due to lack of Japanese titles on the console, as most of their fans are just waiting for TGS as they hope that Sony might unveil some new games that are more inclined towards the Japanese consumers.
However, there is a chance that we will see an increase in PS4 sales in the coming months as a lot of famous titles are going to release for the platform, including Destiny, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Far Cry 4, AC: Unity, Dragon Age: Inquisition and a lot more.
The hardware sales in Japan were dominated by Nintendo’s handheld 3DS LL as in just previous week, it sold 33,172 units followed by PS Vita which sold 17,084 units.
What do you think is the reason behind the lack of PS4 sales in Japan?
