Keys to Kyrat is an exclusive feature for the PlayStation version of Far Cry 4 and were revealed a couple of months ago. During Sony’s Gamescom 2014 press conference earlier today, Ubisoft explained the feature in more detail.
Purchasing the game on either the PS3 or PS4 will net you 10 Keys to Kyrat. Each key allows you to invite a friend to play co-op via the PlayStation Network, even if the other party has not purchased the full game. In short, the platform-exclusive offer allows players to “explore together” with their friends for up to two hours each, per key.
During the co-op duration, players can capture outposts, gain in-game rewards and pretty much do everything intended for as long as the key holds valid.
The trailer itself showcased some of the more treacherous areas of the game’s Himalayan regions. It looks beautiful and may just be the best installment in the Far Cry series yet.
Earlier this week it was revealed that two Ubisoft divisions are currently working together on Far Cry 4 missions that are set in an all new environment that’s “outside of the game world.”
No clarification has been given by Ubisoft so far, but we can hope of an official word during Gamescom 2014.
Far Cry 4 is scheduled for launch on November 18 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
