The SSDs will come in 120GB, 240GB and 480GB capacities and will use Toshiba’s 19-nanometer flash lithography technology. Rumors surrounding this news were around since April and according the following leaked AMD chart, the new SSD’s will have a top performance speed of 550MB/s and a four-year life expectancy.
The 120GB, 240GB and 480GB SSD models will have a max read/write speed of 550MB/s and 530MB/s, respectively.
Apparently, it seems as though AMD plans to become an all in one company for PC components as they are already supplying CPUs, GPUs, APUs, RAM and are now stepping into the SSD market as well too.
It won’t be surprising if we see a PC build entirely of AMD parts in a few years. No price point for the Radeon SSDs have been announced yet but we can only hope that it will be wallet friendly.
We will be hearing more about this in the coming months from AMD.
