SNK Playmore has recently updated its employment page to inform potential developers that the studio is now looking for new talent that can help them in the development of a new King of Fighters game.
According to MM Cafe’s Professor, the banner on the official website translates into King of Fighters or that development of a new installment in the iconic fighting franchise is currently underway.
“KOF development is underway. Change the history of fighting games with your own hands! [SNKPlaymore is] currently looking for new development staff!” reads the text in the banner.
The newly updated careers page is seeking out programmers, tech designers, and CG designers to “change the history of fighting games.” The job descriptions also helped reveal that this new King of Fighters is being developed for previous-gen, as well as the current-gen consoles.
Potential candidates are asked to have sufficient experience with both the old and new platforms – PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
SNK Playmore has been hinting on a new fighting game since May 2013. Unfortunately, any hype they created went down in flames when the teasers just ended up to be two new pachinko games. This time around the competitive and veteran part of the fighting games community has something to look forward to again.
King of Fighters has been confirmed to be in development. It could see to a 2015 release and give Mortal Kombat X a run for its money.
