It’s taken a while, but publisher Bandai Namco has finally settled on a release date for GoD Factory: Wingmen. It will be arriving on Steam on August 29, 2014 for a price of €19.99.
GoD Factory: Wingmen is a rather complex beast. It’s a multiplayer title that pits four gunships against four others.
Combat is done in visually stunning fields with 360 degrees of freedom. A lot of light swishes add to the colorful dance of dogfights in this grand space battle.
Ships can transform into giant robot contraptions and shoot at each other with a range of different abilities. Moreover, there are a ton of different parts to customize a ship and tweak the stats you’d like to see.
It’s sort of like if Strike Suit Zero had a baby with an arena game and you killed a carrier instead of a base and lanes would just be the vastness of space. So, it’s more one than the other, but you get the point.
Preorders are live now and come with quite a few additional goods. Its most important incentive is that you’ll receive an extra key to give to someone else, since multiplayer games need people to populate their matches.
Along with that, you’ll also receive a soundtrack with 13 compositions and an artbook with over 40 pages of content. There are also some unique skins.
Usually, a preorder will have just one of those items, so GoD Factory: Wingmen is going all out.
GoD Factory: Wingmen was announced together with two other games Bandai Namco already helped put on Steam, namely Platformines and Beware Planet Earth.
It’s nice to see big publishers come to the rescue of good ideas, regardless of their initial drive. Previously, GoD Factory: Wingmen failed to garner enough attention to fund a Kickstarter goal of $70,000.
