The highlight of Square Enix’s Gamescom 2014 lineup of games will be Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris.
With the added benefit of more than 180 hands-on stations, attendees will finally be able to experience the game’s first hands-on experience ahead of its release later this year.
Aside from the Lara Croft title, visitors will also have the opportunity to experience the new frontline PvP mode of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. The mode pits three teams of eight players against each other in a series of battle challenges.
Square Enix also confirmed the presence of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, Dragon Quest IV, Nosgoth and more.
“It’s great for Square Enix to support Gamescom once again,” said Square Enix Europe COO Mike Sherlock, “the show is growing year on year in terms of numbers and importance, and is the biggest gaming event in Europe.”
“Our games showcase the impressive talent from Square Enix’s Eastern and Western studios and our line-up has something for everyone – MMO players, console gamers, families, mobile users and PC competitive gamers.”
Gamescom 2014 will take place from August 13-17 in Cologne, Germany. According to Gamescom organizer Koelnmesse, the number of companies that signed up during the early booking phase for this year’s event was up by 50 percent compared to last year’s event. Other confirmed exhibitors include Bigpoint, Riot Games, Wargaming, Nvidia and Oculus Rift.
