Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris Releases December 9
Spin-off Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris has received a pinpointed release date. After an interview with IGN revealed that the game would come late this year, Eurogamer was able to confirm the full launch date is December 9, 2014.
Unlike the main Tomb Raider release, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is more of an isometric action adventure. It still has the same mystical themes, particularly in the titular temple locations.
In this game, however, you’ll be tagging along with some other explorers, instead of going it alone. It’s possible to team up in cooperative play with adventurer Carter Bell or even the gods Horus and Isis.
Naturally, the game is still playable in singleplayer mode. There is quite a focus still present for puzzles that get scattered through the temple.
This iteration of the Lara Croft spin-off also seems to increase the action even further. Multiple combat scenes fill the screen with traps and bad guys to shoot down. It almost has a Diablo-like vibe with all the activity on the screen.
Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is the sequel to Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. If you’re curious how that game plays out, you can find it right now in the Humble Bundle that features publisher Square Enix.
Aside from this title, developer Crystal Dynamics is still working on Rise of the Tomb Raider, the sequel to the 2013 reboot that brought Lara to the new generation.
Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris will release for PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4.
