The Evil Within Release Date Changed, Now Coming on Oct 14

By   /   Jul 18, 2014

The Evil Within won’t be releasing on October 21, but don’t worry it’s not a bad news. The game is coming a week earlier on October 14!

The announcement came in through the official Twitter profile of the game where no other reason was given:

However, Pete Hines of Bethesda has said that the game required a little more time for completion, so the additional time was given but ‘it’s ready a week early, so we’re releasing it a week early.’

On the contrary I think this had something to do with the release schedule of other games. So let’s take a roundup for the month of October which seems rather fuller with releases each week. The Evil Within was originally planned to release on October 21 but on that day it would have collided with titles like Evolve, Fantasia: Music Evolved and above all Battlefield Hardline!

Anyone would want to avoid that. Then, if they moved the date a week late, it would have had to deal with Assassin’s Creed Unity and Sunset Overdrive. However, they decided to change the release date to October 14 instead of October 28.

This way they will be releasing The Evil Within alongside Borderlands The Pre-Sequel and Project Spark.

Last but not the least, the first month of October is thoroughly filled with big guns and Bethesda wouldn’t want to take the risk of a higher level of competition; and that too with the likes of Alien: Isolation, DriveClub, Middle-Earth: Shadow of Modor, Dragon Age: Inquisition and NBA 2K15!

So The Evil Within gets unleashed on the outer world on October 14, 2014 for the North American markets. Furthermore, Australian release is on October 16 and Europe gets it on October 18.

The game has been developed for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.
