Top 8 Teams Decided in Dota 2 The International 4

With 11 Million Dollars on the line, the playoffs at the Valve headquarters in Seattle have now finished with the 8 teams that qualified !

During these last few days we’ve witnessed the best teams in the world clashing and boy were there surprise results… the level is so high and unpredictable that the defending champions and TI3 winners Team Alliance have already been eliminated and finished 12th place!

With such top quality, there wasn’t a single game that wasn’t worth watching and there were atleast 3-4 very epic games EVERY DAY!

Out of the 103 hero pool, only 9 went unpicked so far so chances are that your favorite hero saw action.

Viewer numbers soared high, some games even had over 600.000 people watching inside the Dota 2 game client, with lots more on the TwitchTV stream, Chinese stream and even some national TV broadcasts!

The first day started off with the 1vs1 Solo Championship, in which Alliance’s s4 took first place after a well fought final against iG’s Ferrari_430 and also with the runner-ups of the qualifiers battling with each other to decide the last slot in which Team Liquid won.

Round Robin with the 16 teams followed and epicness ensued, without spoiling the matches, the results were the following:

Dota 2 TI-
The battle with the 3 teams with 7 wins and 8 lossses was decided with extra tiebreaker games which saw Mouse lose both games against NewBee and LGD, thus getting eliminated.

The 2 top teams, Vici Gaming and Evil Geniuses advanced directly into the Main Event Upper Bracket where they have a second chance if they lose, the bottom 6 got eliminated and the other 8 played it in 2 separate Bubble Race groups with the following outcome:

Liquid and Titan (who was the last hope for South East Asia) were the teams eliminated in this stage.

DK and NewBee were the teams that came out on top of the Bubble Race and qualified for the Main Event Upper Bracket, while the other 4 teams were seeded into the Lower Bracket of the Main Event.

From being close to being eliminated, to surviving the gauntlet by defeating Titan, Na’Vi and iG in a row and securing their Upper Bracket slot, NewBee was completely happy and on fire like shown below.

Main Event matchups are the ones shown at the top of the article. It will be played in the Key Arena in Seattle, and will begin on the Friday 18th of July, along with the All-Star match where the players selected by the fans will battle each other.

  • 3rd place –  $1.021.000
  • 4th place – $806.000
  • 5th/6th – $645.000
  • 7th/8th – $510.000
  • 9th/10th – $50.000 Liquid and Titan
  • 11th/12th – $38.000 Mousesports and Alliance
  • 13th/14th – $21.500 Fnatic and Empire
  • 15th/16th – $0 Na’Vi.US and Arrow Gaming
