It has been known since a while that Kevin Durant is going to grace the NBA 2K15 boxart, however, the official imagery had not been released until now. Couple of hours ago, the developer Visual Concepts has revealed the official boxart.

Kevin Durant is Oklahoma City Thunder forward and has been all the hype in recent days. In the last season he was presented with the MVP award of NBA for an exceptional performance throughout the season.

He had scored 2583 points and 445 assists with a 0.503 field goal percentage. It was also due to his effort that Oklahoma City Thunder managed to reach the Conference Finals although San Antonio Spurs beat them there.

Durant was super excited when he was confirmed as the cover athlete; in fact he went on to say, ‘I begged them to put me on the cover. I really think nobody plays the game as much as I do.’ Here’s how he looks on the NBA 2K15 boxart:

Moreover, it has been announced that Pharrell Williams is going to curate the soundtracks of the game. Along with Pharrell’s statement that it was important to him ‘that the music complemented the on-court action of NBA basketball in NBA 2K15,’ the vice president of marketing at NBA 2K, Alfie Brody says:

“Pharrell’s passion and reputation as a visionary producer and expertise from working with the NBA will be evident in the largest and most eclectic NBA 2K soundtrack ever. We really listened to our fans’ feedback on how we could improve their experience from a music standpoint, and we’re confident Pharrell’s collaboration in NBA 2K15 will impress players as much as it’s impressed us.”

NBA 2K15 is slated for an October 7 release for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
