Large number of Windows users are now opting to use Linux operating system, and that maybe the reason which forced the developers to port the awesome title.

Darksiders mainly gained its fame due to its hack n slash gameplay mechanics, as players took control of “War,” who is one of the horsemen of the Apocalypse.

The game’s universe is divided into multiple parts, which are not accessible at the start of the game, but as players progress through, all locations slowly start to unlock, and then players are free to explore whichever location they prefer.

Darksiders made its way to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC back in 2010 and got a great reception from the critics, who appraised the game for its awesome gameplay mechanics and unique storyline.

The game also received a sequel in 2012, but after that, THQ had to relinquish the rights for the title due to its bankruptcy.

Now, the new owners of franchise, Nordic Games are currently looking for ideas for Darksiders 3 and this new image suggests that a port to linux is also in development.
