Nintendo Announces Smash Bros. 3DS Tournament at San Diego Comic-Con
The first-ever official Super Smash Bros. tournament for the 3DS will take place at San Diego Comic-Con this year, Nintendo has announced.
Fans of the game, or those interested in participating in the competition can do so by visiting the Nintendo Gaming Lounge at the Marriott Marquis & Marina located at 333 W. Harbor Drive, adjacent to the San Diego Convention Center.
San Diego Comic-Con will commence on July 25 and the tournament will begin sharply at noon with a preliminary round in which groups of four competitors are going to battle it out. Only the winner shall advance to the next round. During the finals, players will duke it out one-on-one to determine the top smasher.
Nintendo notes that the tournament slots are limited and will be based on first-come first-served basis. Registrations will open up on the same event day and hence it’s important for all attendees to know that they will have to quickly head over to the tournament booth and sign themselves in.
Those who are not attending San Diego Comic-Con can watch the tournament live on Nintendo’s Twitch channel. News about additional Nintendo Gaming Lounge activities will be announced in the future.
Super Smash Bros. is scheduled for launch on the 3DS on October 3, while it will release for the Wii U this holiday season.
