Next Assassin’s Creed Game to be Led by Ubisoft Quebec

Up until now, the Assassin’s Creed games have been created and primarily managed by the Ubisoft Montreal studio. This is about to change soon as Ubisoft Quebec studio is all set to take over for the next Assassin’s Creed game.

I wonder what kind of an impact it will have on the kind of games that come our way in the future.

Anyhow, Ubisoft Quebec is not new to the AC universe. Previously they have helped the Montreal studio in the development of earlier titles along with other studios. Among their past work in the series, the development of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood was greatly aided by them. That is among a long list of other endeavors.

In fact, the managing director of Ubisoft Quebec, Nicolas Rioux said that they ‘have the confidence of the brand team and also from Ubisoft to take leadership of an upcoming Assassin’s Creed title,’ and that ‘the team is ready for the next big step.’

Other than Brotherhood, they have helped developing Revelations, Assassin’s Creed III, The Tyranny of King Washington DLC of AC III and Freedom Cry. While detailing their work, Rioux said that their role was of critical importance in the development of companion gaming for AC titles as well as Watch Dogs. That tells us something about what to expect in the coming game!

Currently the studio is housing 350 employees with at least 50 new professionals to be hired soon. Some of them are already working on the next Assassin’s Creed game! I have my fingers crossed for an interesting title.
