Doom 4 At QuakeCon Will Only Be Shown To Attendees, Says Bethesda

By   /   Jul 2, 2014

Bethesda released a teaser at E3 teasing that it will reveal Doom 4 at the upcoming Quake Con, however, on its official website, developer has announced that only the event attendees will be able to lay their eyes upon the next iteration in the franchise.

Bethesda noted:

As announced in our E3 teaser trailer, fans in attendance at QuakeCon 2014 will have the opportunity to get a sneak peek at what’s been going on with the new DOOM game from id Software.

This is an exclusive thing we are doing for attendees as part of our Annual QuakeCon Welcome presentation. We’ll have plenty more to show everyone at a later date, but we didn’t want another QuakeCon to go by without doing something special for the amazing QC community and id supporters that have been with us for more than 20 years.

Quake Con is set to take place from 17th of July to 20th in Dallas, Texas so be there if you are eager to have your first look at Doom 4.

However, this is sad news for the fans who have been waiting for such a long time to see the game in action considering now they will have to wait a bit longer.

Previous entry in the series, Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil released way back in 2005 and since then id Software has worked on multiple new projects in collaboration with different studios.

Doom 4 was officially revealed to be in development in 2008, when id’s lead developer John Carmack said that the new entry in the series will take place on earth and will feature gameplay style that will match the original Doom.

Doom 4 is expected to release sometime next year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
