Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Has Been Developed to Tell the Story of Handsome Jack

According to the producer at 2K, Tiffany Nagano, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel was made to tell story of Handsome Jack due to the fan-base he gathered from Borderlands 2.

In an interview with Gamestm, Nagano talked about the origin of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel:

2K and Gearbox felt that Handsome Jack, the man that everyone loved to hate in Borderlands 2, deserved his own story and fans have been clamouring for more Borderlands content.

We wanted players to experience playing on Handsome Jack’s side in order to watch him transform from a man intending to protect Pandora into the megalomaniacal tyrant he ultimately becomes. And of course, the moon setting is perfect for a range of new gameplay experiences, including low-gravity, laser guns and cryo weapons.

Tiffany continued on to say that this project is a result of direct collaboration between 2K Australia and Gearbox Software, with both studios working on the same project made work a lot easier.

She also hinted that there will be new crazy over the top vehicles and weapons headed your way in the game. Also, the weapons in upcoming title will have new components and classes so that you will not get bored with it.

The game is set on moon so obviously there will not be any oxygen available and developers want to make the whole game a challenging experience for the players and that’s why they have included oxygen as lootable item in the game.

We will see if Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel lives up to the expectations when it hits the shelves on 14th of October for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
