Dragon Quest X Overseas Edition will Have Separate Servers
We have been hearing about a Dragon Quest X Overseas Edition since May, although it has been lacking on details – no thanks to Square Enix. However, there is one bit of news in that regard. It looks like the Overseas Edition is going to get independent servers.
Recently, a post was made on the Dragon Quest X website; to be exact we are talking about the diary entry of June 8 by Dragon Quest X producer Yosuke Saito, and it was picked up by a NeoGAF user.
Although the post is in Japanese, and I am as good at that language as I am at chemistry (no good at all), I took the liberty to surf through multiple translations, including the one provided by the aforementioned source.
What can be figured out of all this is that the servers for the game are going to be totally separate. Furthermore, each of the countries where the game will be released will get a separate development team.
That being said, although the developer is talking about a Dragon Quest X Overseas Edition, by the word ‘overseas’ they probably mean countries like Korea, China and South Asia.
I say that because Square Enix has also been talking about an expansion into China.
So that is about it, we don’t know anything else about the Dragon Quest X Overseas Edition but we will surely keep you posted about it as soon as some more information arises.
Oh and it doesn’t harm to keep a little hope for a Western release.
