Forget Fallout 4, Classic Fallout Games Now Available on Steam

We have been waiting for Fallout 4 to be announced for quite a long while now, but still no word has been uttered on the game by Bethesda.

However, to make the wait easier, developer has made Fallout Classics Pack available on Steam, which includes the Original Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics.

You can either purchase the whole pack for $19.99 or individually at the price of 9.99.

Moreover, Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 will have the option of either being launched in the default setting with better resolution or the old classic version that is completely unmodified.

On the other hand, Fallout Tactics is totally unmodified, and it will again be using direct connect options for the game’s multiplayer.

However, do note that Fallout Tactics is not compatible with Windows 8, while other two will work just fine. In addition to that, all three games will support Steam Cloud service for the save games.

Original Fallout was released back in 1997 with post-apocalyptic settings, and this new RPG was first of its kind not to go for dungeons and medieval settings that had become the trademark of the genre.

Fallout 2 came out just one year after the original, but it contained considerably large world compared to the first one.

Fallout Tactics focuses on the tactical squad based combat in the world of Fallout, but had nothing do with previous games at all.

Making classic Fallout games available on Steam will certainly help more people play the great games that defined the RPG genre.
