Destiny To Be A PlayStation Exclusive in Japan

Sony has revealed that Bungie’s upcoming MMO shooter, Destiny will be a PlayStation exclusive in Japan as the game will not release for Xbox One and Xbox 360 in the country.

Xbox 360 couldn’t get much attention in Japan and Xbox One is not going to launch until September 4, so that might be the reason behind Destiny’s exclusivity.

However, this will not affect the game’s release in other countries as it will launch for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on 9th of September.

Bungie previously worked on famous Halo series, which is believed to be one of the flagship series for Xbox consoles.

With Destiny, developers are looking to create a shared world shooter, where players will have to form partnerships with each other in order to survive because going in alone will not be an easy task.

The game is currently in Alpha stages, and the owners of PlayStation 4 had the pleasure of trying out the game last week.

Players who did manage to get their hands-on Destiny during last week, praised it for its unique gameplay experience as it keeps players invested in the game.

The owners of other consoles will be able to play Destiny’s beta in the upcoming months, with PS3 and PS4 beta starting July 17th, while Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners will have to wait a bit longer.

Sony has not confirmed, whether the PlayStation exclusivity of Destiny will last for specific timeline or is it a life time deal, but more on that will be revealed soon.
