Yoshida Wants to Bring Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn to Xbox One

Producer and Director at Square Enix, Naoki Yoshida made a statement in an interview with Pocket Lint, saying that he “would really want to do an Xbox version” of Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn as he is a “big Xbox player” himself.

He continued on to say that he doesn’t want the community to split in half just because they are playing on different consoles so Square is in talks with Microsoft to allow cross-platform compatibility.

The thing is, A Realm Reborn is all about cross-platform compatibility. Anybody from any platform can play together. We don’t want to split our community into people who play on this platform or play on that one.

So we’re currently in talks with Microsoft, trying to convince them that this is what needs to happen.

The Xbox Live policies at this moment do not allow any type of multiplayer that is compatible with other platforms. The developer of MMO on the other hand, wants the community to stick together and play together without having to restrict themselves on a single platform.

After being released on PC and PlayStation 3, Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn made its way to PlayStation 4 on 14th of April, 2014 and with this new interview, it looks like Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn might be headed to Xbox One as well.
