Destiny Xbox One Version Will Have Higher Resolution as it Doesn’t Use Kinect

Recently, Microsoft dropped the news that the GPU performance of Xbox One will be improved after the June update. This was further clarified by Phil Spencer who said that the memory set aside for Kinect will be unlocked and so the overall performance will get at least a 10 percent hike.

In related news, he has also confirmed that Destiny Xbox One version will have a higher resolution thanks to the same.

Phil Spencer, the head of Microsoft’s Xbox division was talking to Larry Hryb in a podcast where he explained how the improved performance was going to take effect. He said that the only difference is that previously the resources were set aside and now they will be usable.

This will allow developers to make use of that extra juice. According to Spencer, this is exactly what Bungie is going to do with Destiny Xbox One version:

“Even our friends at Bungie, and I’ve been spending a lot of time down there, they’re going to pick up the June SDK update for Destiny, and they’re going to up the resolution of Destiny based on this change. So I think it’s just a great time for us.”

In the same discussion he also clarified that in order to make use of the better GPU performance you will not be required to plug out the Kinect. If there is a game that doesn’t make use of the Kinect, Xbox One will automatically provide for an additional processing allowance to the game in place of that.

Looks like whatever we expected from Destiny Xbox One version is going to be upped by 10 percent, are you excited?
