By   /   Jun 5, 2014

Mortal Kombat fans had been waiting for years for a new installment in the franchise and finally their prayers were heard earlier this week with the official announcement of Mortal Kombat X followed by a reveal trailer.

Now NetherRealm Studios’ Ed Boon has confirmed through Twitter that Mortal Komat X will be at E3 2014 and there will be two brand new characters players will be able to check out during the show.

It’s possible that these new characters could be completely new ones or those that were previously intended to be added to some other Mortal Kombat game but weren’t due to some issues.

One such character is Belokk, similar in some ways to Goro, who was going to be included in Mortal Kombat Gold but the team couldn’t finish him in time to add to the game.

The official game website is up with details regarding preorder for enthusiastic fans of the franchise who might want to preorder the game as soon as more details are revealed at E3.

NetherRealm really nailed it with the announcement of MKX, which is slated for a 2015 release for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC, being so close to E3 to get the fans pumped up.

So what are your thoughts about this new bit of information? What kind of new characters are you looking forward to in the game?
