Rumors surfaced earlier this month, suggesting that From Software, the developer behind extremely popular Dark Souls series is working on a brand new ‘Project Beast’ exclusively for PlayStation 4.
Now, few seconds of gameplay footage has leaked online which shows the gameplay and environments of the upcoming Project Beast. As you can see from the clip above, everything feels quite similar to the Souls titles that we have come to love over the years.
Previously, Sony Japan and From Software worked together to bring the original Demon’s Souls to life, a game that redefined difficulty in modern RPG games.
In a related news, From Software was recently acquired by Japanese publisher Kadokawa, which purchased 80 per cent shares of the company.
After the acquisition, CEO of From Software said that the company will look to develop new and in-depth franchises:
With a new system, from this point on, I believe we’ll be able to make newer and more in depth games.
From Software’s most-recent title Dark Souls 2 was released was PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in March, while the PC version hit the shelves at the end of April.
Project Beast looks amazing, and it will be very interesting to see what the developers have in store for us, come E3.
