Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick made a statement during the Cowen and Company analyst conference, which almost confirms that sequel to 2010’s Game of the Year Red Dead Redemption is in development.
It seems quite obvious that Red Dead is a permanent franchise.
This is the second time, Strauss has made a statement to ensure the fans that Red Dead is a permanent franchise.
Previously, he made a similar statement in 2013, where he said that the company would like to work on other permanent franchises than GTA, like “Red Dead and Bioshock”.
Red Dead Redemption has sold over 13 Million copies on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, which are more than expected sales for a franchise that didn’t gather much popularity from the original game “Red Dead Revolver”.
Many people still regard Red Dead Redemption as one of the best games developed for last generation of consoles and I believe that almost everyone who played the game would be hoping for a sequel sooner rather than later.
More than four years have passed since the release of Red Dead Redemption and fans are waiting anxiously for the announcement of next title.
We hope that the sequel to popular title will be unveiled soon.
Are you looking forward to see another game in the franchise?
