Nintendo has released a video showing the competitors, announcers and rules of their upcoming Super Smash Bros. tournament which takes place alongside this year’s E3.
Amongst other announcements, they have also shown the GameCube Controller adapter for the Wii U which allows players to connect GameCube controllers to the console.
The adapter allows up to 4 GameCube controllers to be connected and used on the Wii U. It’s clear that the adapter was made with Super Smash Bros Brawl in mind from the start. With that thought, Fans are hopeful that the new adapter will make way for new GameCube controllers to be produced for the console in the near future.
Other announcements from the video include the introduction of the competitors who have been handpicked for the tournament, the announcers, the selected champions, rules of the tournament as well as announcing Geoff Keighly as the host of the tournament.
As of now, there are no details on when the adapter will be released or how much it will cost, but one thing we can expect is Nintendo demonstrating the new adapter at the Super Smash Bros. tournament.
Super Smash Bros Invitational takes place on June 10th from 4:00 to 6:30 PM PT at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, CA, the tournament will also be streamed on Nintendo’s Twitch Channel.
