Developer Cateia Games is looking to Kickstarter to fund the sequel to one of their adventures. Kaptain Brawe 2: A Space Travesty would like to come to fruition, after the first game from the captain warped into existence in 2010.
Inspiration for Kaptain Brawe 2: A Space Travesty is deeply embedded in the adventure glory days of Sierra and similar releases. With a whimsical cast, hand-drawn sceneries and traditional point-and-click elements, it fits right in with games like Monkey Island or Space Quest.
It’s so hell-bent on keeping a classic vibe that Kaptain Brawe 2: A Space Travesty will look to Steve Ince to pen its story. Ince made a name as a storyteller with adventure games like Broken Sword and Beneath a Steel Sky.
Kaptain Brawe 2: A Space Travesty is currently planned for PC, as well as iOS and Android mobile devices. This is quite common for the range of adventure games Cateia Games holds, such as a selection of hidden object titles.
With 34 days left to go, the game is off to a rather slow start. It has just over $4,000 of a needed $150,000, at the time of writing.
To tickle your senses, Cateia Games is offering the first episode of Kaptain Brawe: A Brave New World as a free download to anyone on the Kickstarter page. Those who back at least $3 will also receive the second episode, should the campaign be successful.
A copy of Kaptain Brawe 2: A Space Travesty starts at $20, because all the early bird spots at $15 have been scooped up already.
